California real estate continues to expand with an average of $2,854 per home sold in January and March 2016, according to the latest data from Trulia.
That’s up 5.7 percent from January and up 6.2 percent from February, when the state saw record home sales.
California’s average home price is up 5 percent from a year ago, according the Trulia report.
The median price is now $964,000, up 5,000 from February and up 2,200 from January 2016.
Trulia said the state’s overall median price rose 5.3 percent in January, and the median home price increased 2.7 points.
Real estate experts say the California market continues to be a hotbed for home sales, with record sales of $3.3 billion in March and $2 billion in January.
In March, the state sold nearly 20,000 homes, and by the end of January, the total number of homes sold was up 14.3 million.
Trumps election win is helping to spur home sales in the state.
Sales in California have surged for the past several years, with sales hitting record highs in December and January.
Trusted Listings, the leading real estate data company in the U.S., said in a report last week that the median sales price in California was up 15 percent in March from the previous month.
Home buyers can get a glimpse at the state of the market with Trulia’s Home Price Index, which is based on sales activity and median home prices.
Trubuluses Home Price Report, Trulia reports that the statewide average home prices are now up 15.6 percent over last year and up 15 percentage points since January 2016, while the median price increased 8.4 percent from the same time last year.
Trumbo’s Home Prices in California, Trumbo reports that home prices have risen a whopping $1,972,000 since the end, the most since the state began tracking them in 1998.
Trumba’s latest numbers are from February.
They are from Trubula’s Real Estate Report, a monthly report by Trulia that covers the most recent five months.
In the past year, California has sold more homes than any other state in the country, with 2.4 million sold in March alone, the company said.
Trumuli also reported that there were 4.6 million people who lived in California last year, more than double the number in 2016.
Home sales in California are up 10.5 percent since the beginning of 2017.
