BEIJING–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Real estate developer Kaplan Real Estate announced on Thursday that it has closed all of its new and existing sales, as the government reported a record number of new home sales.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that there were 1,902,711 new sales in the United States in January, up from 1,812,845 in January of this year.
That is a 19.5% increase from January of last year, the last month before the start of the real estate bubble.
The Census Bureau said in January that 1,897,000 Americans moved into homes for the first time in their lives.
That is a 6.9% increase over January of 2017, the month before President Donald Trump took office.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis also released data Thursday showing the median price of a home in the U.K. rose 8.3% to $3.9 million in January.
