With the recent death of singer-songwriter Roy Orbison, the nation is once again asking a very important question: who is the best-known dead person?
While we’ll never know who would be the most popular deceased, we do know that the most common answer is not the president.
The most popular dead person is still a man, who remains the most widely popular celebrity.
According to Forbes magazine, in the 2017 calendar year, only three people died that year, including Bruce Springsteen, whose body was found in his New York City apartment.
He was 88 years old at the time.
The year before that, in 2017, he was 69.
And so on.
Here’s the other most popular death, according to Forbes: The actor and comedian David Letterman.
In 2019, he died at his home in Los Angeles.
His last performance was in 2014.
In 2018, he left behind an estimated $1.6 billion fortune.
He died at age 77 in Los Gatos, California.
In the case of the president, the number of people who died in 2017 was just five.
So, not too shabby for the fourth most popular.
